Daryl Robinson has been contemplating a transfer from Temple for a number of weeks, but now it is official as he has arrived at West Hills Community College in Coalinga, California.
“I arrived here last night,” Robinson said. “I always heard it was hot out here, but I never knew it was this hot.”
Once Robinson decided to transfer it was either go the junior college route or head to a D-II program.
“I had some issues with the staff at Temple and I just felt like I needed to get out of Philadelphia,” Robinson stated. “I was looking at IUP (Indiana University of Pennsylvania) and this place. I just have my heart set on playing D-I and I started last year, so it’s not like I can’t do it.
“Last year, I started at running back,” he said. “This year, they were going to move me to corner. I just needed a change.”
The former Northeast Catholic star is not looking at any particular school when he does decide to make his return back to the ranks of D-I football. He plans on being at West Hills for one year and then transferring to another D-I program.
“It doesn’t really matter to me what conference the school is from,” he said. “I’m going to look at whoever shows an interest in me whether it is a Pac-10 school or Big East school.”
As a true freshman, Robinson carried the ball 86 times for 347 yards. He also caught 16 passes for 171 yards and a touchdown. Robinson also returned kickoffs and punts for the Owls.
