Bryan Bennett entered his sophomore season expecting to be the backup for Encino (Calif.) Crespi, learning from UCLA freshman Kevin Prince during the 2007 season.
But a knee injury to Prince in the season opener catapulted Bennett into the starting job the remainder of the season, and he promptly led the Celts to the the Serra League title and the finals of the CIF-SS Pac-5 playoffs.
Bennett threw for 2,133 yards and 17 touchdowns for the Celts, who finished the year ranked #5 in California. He twice threw four touchdowns in a game and had another in which he three for 388 yards.
At the UnderArmour/Scout.com Combine in Los Angeles, Bennett earned all-combine underclass honors.
Bennett has a slight frame, but can easily add the weight. He's got a good strong arm, good mobility in the pocket and very good accuracy. He will be one of the top 2010 quarterbacks in the West.
Here he is during his sophomore season.
