Barrick Gets Positive Camp Feedback

As we look forward into next year’s class we come across something you don’t see too often, a big body from Maryland being recruiting by an SEC powerhouse in Georgia. So far that has been the status quo for Hansen Barrick as he camped in Athens, Morgantown and College Park this summer.

Hansen Barrick, a 6-foot-6, 320-pound offensive tackle from Tuscarora High School in Frederick, Md., didn’t strap on a pair of pads until his freshman year in high school, however he is already hearing from some of the top programs in the nation. If he continues to add muscle to his huge frame and learn the game a bit more over his junior and senior season he could turn out to be a hot commodity.

“I went to camp at Georgia and had a lot of fun there,” Barrick said. “I liked the offensive line coach a lot because not only was he good at his job, but he was also a laid back guy who knew when to have fun and when to get down to business. I’m not really into the screaming coaches, so I thought he was great. Athens is a very nice town and the campus was cool. It kind of felt like home down there a little bit. They gave my coach a call last week and told him they were very interested in me, so we’ll see where it goes from here.”

“I also camped at Maryland which was really fun because that was the first camp I got to strap on shoulder pads and a helmet and actually hit people,” Barrick explained. “That was the second year in a row that I camped at Maryland and I like it a lot because it’s a good program and very close to home. I also grew up a Terps fan and have a lot of family that went there, so there’s that.”

Barrick also camped at West Virginia.
