Kevin Young, the Midland Regions 20th ranked prospect, committed to Kansas University a little over a month ago but he has since felt the heat from schools that were not originally on his radar.
“Things have not slowed down one bit. Arizona and UCLA have been on me really hard. They send me emails and postcards everyday and UCLA offered me yesterday.”
The new attention has intrigued Young and though he remains solid in his verbal, he may be taking his official visits.
“The UCLA offer got me thinking. I want to see what’s out there and what the schools have to offer. I mean, it’s UCLA.”
“If I decide to take other visits, I would go to Nebraska, Illinois, and UCLA and I’m already taking one to KU. And just because I visit other schools, it doesn’t mean I want to de-commit or anything like that. I just want to see what else is out there. You get five visits so why not take them."
Young say his commit to KU is not in jeopardy and it is mainly due to his relationship with Coach Bowen that he remains a solid KU commit.
“I’m solid to KU because Coach Bowen still keeps in contact with me even though I’m already committed. He acts like he is still recruiting me. It shows they care and that what they were saying when they were actually recruiting is true."
Young plans on visiting KU for a practice sometime this week and will then decide if he will be taking his visits shortly after. Scout.com will stay in close contact with Young as things unfold.
