Oscar Smith never seems to run out of D-I prospects. Next year should be no different as defensive tackle Evan Hailes should receive a lot of looks from across the country. At 6-2 and 320 pounds it is easy to see why the spotlight will be on Hailes.
As a sophomore, Hailes recorded 75 tackles, 12 sacks and 15 tackles. He has already been receiving interest from schools such as Georgia, West Virginia, Alabama, Clemson, South Carolina and Tennessee.
Hailes is a massive young man that not many people can stop if he sets his mind to it. The staff at Oscar Smith has already nicknamed him “D-I”. They also have a Triple-I formation where Hailes lines up as the up back, Jerrod Askew as fullback, Perry Jones as tailback and Phillip Sims at quarterback. All four guys will or are going D-I.
