"Everything is going great," said Jonathan Atchison. "I haven't made a decision yet. I am real close though. I will probably make a decision after the first week of college football." "Right now both Alabama and Auburn are equal. I plan on attending the Alabama-Tulane game [September 6]. That is the only game I know I am going to right now." Atchison talked about the trip to Tuscaloosa to attend one of the Tide's fall practices. "I visited Alabama's practice last week," he said. "The visit went real good. I got to see them practice. I went to the defensive meeting and position meeting with coach [Lance] Thompson. I got to see the players move around." "It looked like something I might want to be a part of. I like their facilities better than Auburn's. I like the good support system, and the fans are crazy over there." Auburn has been a top contender for Atchison as well. He has built a strong relationship with the Tigers' linebacker coach. "I like the coaches," Atchison said. "They have real good coaches especially coach [James] Willis. He is a cool guy. He and coach [Terry] Price seem like cool dudes. I got to meet some of the players. They seem real cool. I really like the atmosphere down there as well." Look for announcement in less than a month as the Tide and Tigers battle for Atchison's February signature.
