Williams Has the Physical Tools

The Philadelphia area produced some talented wide receivers for the Class of 2009 and looking forward to the 2010 class there is plenty of potential as well. One of those prospects is Fairless Hills, Pa., native Eric Williams, a wideout with good size, speed and athleticism.
Eric Williams
has a 6-foot-3, 190-pound frame, runs a 4.48 40-yard dash and boasts a 34-inch vertical leap. The Pennsbury High School athlete has all of the tools to be an excellent wide receiver prospect, however he just started playing organized football, so the one thing he lacks and will receive this year is varsity experience.
“I went down to
Temple
and watched a practice which was cool,” Williams said. “I talked to Head Coach Al Golden for a while and he was a very straight up, cool guy. He just told me a lot about the program and academics at Temple. The biggest thing that stood out to me watching that practice was how much bigger and faster the players are in college. I grew up in the Northeast and my family lives in North Philly, so I like that area and campus.”
Williams is completely open at this point and given the fact that he didn’t grow up playing football, he really never had any favorites. Even more than that, he really didn’t follow the sport much at all, so he is open to all comers.
“You know, I do like
Oregon State
and
Syracuse
, but that doesn’t mean a whole lot because I’m open to anything,” Williams explained. “I’m only going into my junior year, I’m still learning the game and I don’t know much about any of the schools out there, so this is just exciting because I’ll get to learn about a lot of schools.”
If Williams ends up playing at the Division I level, which is seems he has a great chance to do, it will be three straight years for Pennsbury after
C.J. Marck
and his brother
Steve Marck
.
