Newton Announcement Moved

Midwest Recruiting Analyst
Posted Aug 18, 2008

Morgan Newton originally was to announce his choice tomorrow, but a conflict arose and the five star quarterback has now been forced to move the choice. Luckily for the six schools in the running, it won't be too much longer.

Morgan Newton, a five star quarterback from Carmel (Ind.) will announce his college choice at Carmel High School on Thursday at 10:30 am. The announcement was originally scheduled for Tuesday.

"Some of the local media asked us if they could move it because the Colts are opening Lucas Oil Stadium and having a practice," his father John Newton said.

"We said they should ask the Colts to move their practice," he jokingly continued.

Newton is down to six schools: Indiana, Purdue, Kentucky, Florida, Clemson and Illinois.

Scout.com will be on hand for the press conference as well as Carmel's big opening weekend tilt with Cathedral Prep on Saturday.
