Chris Bell's recruiting profile

The Golden Wave have a handful of D1 skilled athletes on their team, but if they are going to get over the "South Panola and Olive Branch" hurdle, they will have to win it in the trenches.

"We know we are going to have to win down there," added Tupelo's starting offensive lineman, Chris Bell. "I think we have made a lot of progress on the line since I have been on the varsity team the last two years. This year we expect a lot more from us."

But Bell realizes that his talented skilled players will also be a key role for their team's success.

"They take a lot of pressure off of us, but it puts it back on us because if they have a bad game, it puts it back on us. We have Garien Heard, Chad Bumphis, Deonta Paine, Justin Bean, and Chris Garrett can get them the ball. There are a lot of weapons on our team and realize that."

The 6' 3", 287 pounder has plenty of experience to get the job done from the hogs up front..

"I have only missed one game since my sophomore year. I think I bring good speed, leadership, and overall I am a very good technician. That really helps me out because when you are smaller than someone else, you beat them with sound techniques."

Bell earned All-Area and was a 1st Team All-Region 1 (5A) selection for his play last season.

"I am at my best in the pass game, but I can make an impact if a play needs to be made. They ran behind me 70% of the time last year."

Where did Chris get to camp at this summer?

"I went to the USM, Ole Miss, La Tech, Vandy, and UAB camps."

The Eagles seem to be coming after Chris the hardest.

"They write me the most letters. USM is recruiting me pretty hard. I am going to try and go to one of their games this fall."
