Florida Lineman Decides
"I'm committed to Northwestern," said offensive lineman Austin Matthews. "I came back home from my visit last weekend (11-15) and I talked it over with my parents and my coach. "Northwestern had everything I was looking for. An Ivy League education, Big Ten football, a beautiful campus and the city of Chicago. "I loved Evanston and to have Chicago so close, I thought that was really nice." Matthews, a 6-foot-6, 275-pounder, from Orange Park, Florida is a three-year varsity starter that was named all-area in 2002. He's also been nominated to play in the Georgia-Florida All-Star game. Matthews joins fellow Floridian Kyle Wagner as well as Adam Kadela (Ohio) and Warren Anderson (California) in what's shaping up to be a very nice recruiting class for Randy Walker and the Wildcats.
