Did East St. Louis wide receiver Kraig Appleton show his hand as to where he'll be playing in…
Preview Wayne - East St. Louis
East Saint Louis has Scout.com four-star wide receiver Kraig Appleton who holds offers from Illinois, Ohio State, Notre Dame, Texas Tech, Wisconsin and Michigan to name a few. But he's not the only talent on the team as two of his teammates have already given verbal commitments to Illinois.
Terry Hawthorne is a big play receiver who pulled down 45 balls last season for 1086 yards and 10 touchdowns. The Scout.com three-star receiver is a major talent and will be a test for Wayne to stop both him and Appleton.
Safety Tommie Hopkins may not be as well known as Hawthorne or Appleton but he's a talent worthy to talk about. Hopkins will find Wayne a team capable of challenging him with their unknown receivers looking to make a name.
While the Warriors enter with a win under their belt it didn't come easy. Super Soph quarterback Braxton Miller showed why Cincinnati has issued a verbal offer and Ohio State head coach Jim Tressel expressed his desire to coach Miller in the future.
Miller is a major playmaker who has gone 9-1 as a starter. He's got great physical tools and can beat a team with his arm or feet.
But Miller is not a one-man team as he'll look towards senior running back Erique Geiger to give the Warriors a solid running attack behind an unknown but solid offensive line. Geiger is also dangerous returning punts and kicks having returned four of them last season for touchdowns.
But while all the talk focuses on Miller its defense the Warriors are known for. Senior safety Javon Marshall is a player picking up interest from several colleges while already holding an offer from Eastern Michigan.
He'll be joined by senior defensive end Anthony Pyle who is a solid but underrated player with an offer from Air Force.
While many know about Miller there is another underclassman picking up major college interest after missing his sophomore season.
Terrence Talbott showed in week one action why many feel he's a major prospect to watch having picked off two passes against Lakota West. The junior will sure to be tested in this game and if he had a great performance could see several programs jump on board early.
This game could be one of more exciting games of the Herbstreit this year.
