Grant Enger the 6-foot-5, 250-pound three-star offensive tackle from O'Dea High School in Seattle, Wash., still has three scholarship offers but now denies a favorite.
Enger, Scout.com's No. 47 offensive tackle, has offers from Oregon State, Stanford and Washington.
He says he still favors those three, plus California and Arizona State.
"Cal said they want to see my first game or two and said they may offer," Enger said. "They seem to like me and I think they'll offer. I visited them and Stanford about a month ago and really liked it.
"It's a great area and the campus is real nice," he said. "I like the weather in California and it was just a real nice place."
And while he thinks that Cal might offer, he says Arizona State has dropped off. "Arizona State, I haven't really been hearing from," he said. "I'm not sure if they are still interested."
Although Enger didn't attend any camps during the summer, he did visit both Oregon State (slight leader in June) and Washington as well as Stanford and California.
"Oregon State is a great place," he said. "It was a tough loss to Stanford though. They played hard and had some chances. I think it could have gone either way."
So did the Beavers loss affect how Enger feels about them? "No," he said. "Not really. They still have a good team and I really like coach Mike Riley. He's a very nice guy and very much a players' coach. All his players really respect him and he's done a great job there.
"But so is coach Jim Harbaugh at Stanford," Enger said. "I'm really impressed with what he's done there. I think they only won one game like two years ago and now he has them as a serious contender.
"They played a great game against Oregon State and I think they'll have a really good season," he said.
Like the Beavers, Washington didn't fare to well in their opener either. "They had a real tough game against Oregon," he said. "But they have such a young team that I really think they'll improve as the year goes on. Coach Ty Willingham knows how to win."
Enger doesn't have any official visits set up yet.
"I don't really have a time frame," he said. "I'll definitely take a couple of visits because I want to see if I can see myself fitting in with the players and if I'm comfortable there."
Enger reports a 3.1 core GPA and a 1600 SAT and says he wants to major in business management.
