Scout's Take: 2010 First Look OT Dalvin Glass
OT Dalvin Glass 6'3 270 Jersey No. 72 Graduation YR. 2010 Strengths Quickness Off The Ball: Glass is extremely light footed for a man 6-3 270lbs. He gets off the ball before DEs and LBs have a chance to come out of there stance. Body Control/Balance: One place a lineman should never be is on the ground (unless cut blocking). Glass plays on his feet. He takes proper angles to cut off linebackers and almost never over shoots his target. He has good flexibility and keeps a wide base so that he does not get knock over or pushed out of position. Explosion: Not only is he quick off the ball, he explodes on contact. He punches well and runs his feet to drive a defender into the turf. LBs and DEs heads rock back when he blocks. Weakness Technique: When he pass sets he does not kick step fast enough and he often gives a defender a two way go. He does not always force the DE outside to create a pocket for the QB to step up into. One of the major reasons QB Jarvis Phillips had to scramble a good bit (the whole Carter O-Line). Overall Glass has all the tools to be a great offensive lineman. His athleticism is rare and it gives him a major advantage. He comes off the ball fast and can work up into the 2nd and 3rd level. He is young so he has technique issues in pass protection but he is a monster in run happy offenses.
