Cardinal O'Hara vs. Germantown

Germantown High School was looking for something positive to build on after being beaten 53-0 by Emmaus High School in their home opener last weekend, however the Lions of Cardinal O'Hara had something different in mind going into Friday night's game at Germantown. O'Hara ended up sitting their starters a minute into the second half and cruising to a 41-point win.

The contest between Cardinal O'Hara and Germantown turned out to be over 29 seconds into the 1st quarter on Friday night. O'Hara junior running back Corey Brown took the opening play 62 yards to the house to put the Lions up 7-0 and when the ensuing kickoff was fumbled on the return, senior quarterback Tom Savage hit Brown on a five-yard touchdown pass to put the Lions up 13-0 with 11:31 left to play in the first quarter. That was all O'Hara needed, but it wasn't all they got.

Brown, who is already boasting offers from over ten programs carried the ball seven times for 149 yards and two touchdowns and also had touchdown catches of five, 10 and 38 yards on the night. On defense he had an interception in the end zone as well.

Tom Savage was 6 of 13 for 123 yards and four touchdowns in the game. The Rutgers commitment hooked up with Billy Morgan for a 35-yard touchdown and also hit Brown for three more. Count three of those incompletions as dropped passes as well. He just missed two passes on deep routes which would have given him six touchdown passes in the first half of the game.

After going up 41-0 on a 38-yard touchdown pass to Corey Brown on their opening drive of the second half the starters from Cardinal O'Hara were taken out and the backups fought to a 6-6 tie against Germantown's first team. Recommended Stories
