Honolulu (Hawaii) Radford two-way lineman Marcus Malepeai (6-2.5, 245) has one offer, from the hometown Warriors, but he's hoping to add to that with a big season.
"I have already been offered a full scholarship to Hawaii," said Malepeai. "I have also drawn interest from other schools such as Washington, Cal, Arizona and Idaho."
Seven schools stand out for Malepeai: Hawaii, Cal, UCLA, Arizona, Arizona State, Washington State and Oregon State.
While he starts on both sides of the ball, including at offensive tackle, it's on defense where Malepeai is making the biggest impression.
"I play defensive end for my school and can also play outside linebacker," said Malepeai.
A good athlete, Malepeai has tested well over the summer.
"I ran my fastest 40 over the summer with a time of 4.87 seconds. I run my pro shuttle in 4.07 seconds and my 3-cone drill in 6.9 seconds. I would say that I have great footwork, but still need to improve my speed.
During the summer, Malepeai camped at Hawaii. He is a two-time all-conference pick.
And he's off to a good start in 2008, recording 19 tackles through the first two games.
