This Week's Games:
Thursday night I will travel to Irving Schools Stadium to watch the Stallions of North Mesquite take on the home town Irving MacArthur Cardinals.
The Cardinals are led by Texas Commit MLB Tariq Allen. Though Allen and his fellow Cardinals have started the season 1-2, they have the talent turn things around in a hurry. Aside from Allen, MacArthur has three other players that have Division 1a offers; FS Denton Allmon, ILB Jeremy Brown, DT Albert Sparks.
The away team also has a host of capable players. Oklahoma Commit OT Josh Aladenoye is the team's most highly recruited player and he will be protecting a QB that wants to get the ball in the hands of senior WR Mark Barefield and junior WR Devin Patterson. Patterson has impressed me at a number of different camps and now is his chance to shine with the pads on.
Friday Night I will be at DeSoto High School as they host the Duncanville Panthers.
DeSoto is a high school that produces talent year in and year out and this year is not the year to expect different. SMU commit Chris Atchinson anchors a line that averages over 200 yards rushing per game. However, the player that is selling the most tickets and popcorn is 2010 WR Darius Terrell. Only a junior, Terrell has four BCS level scholarships. He is a name to remember.
Duncanville High School is bringing in a team that is starving for victory number one. Getting their first win of the season against DeSoto is not inconceivable as they are led by a great coach and a handful of players that have flown under the radar. The keys to their success are QB Larry Miller, WR Chayse Joubert, and WR Darrious Polk. Of the three, Joubert is biggest prospect, holding a Miami offer, however, Miller can play at a mid-major 1a program and Polk is a likely 1aa prospect.
Saturday was no marquee match ups on the dais. However, starting next Monday, I will be traveling to high school practices to get updates on senior prospects who are in the midst of scheduling visits as well as finding underclassmen that have college potential. Practice travel schedule will be released Sunday.
