Florida trio to head North next weekend
"We're off to a 3-0 start so far and doing really good," Xavier Reese said. "I lead Broward County in receiving right now with 234 yards on nine catches. I have one (touchdown). It's good good." Reese is excited about the matchup he'll encounter next Friday when his team takes on Ely. "It'll be a big game for us and a good challenge for me," he said. "They got Mike Carter (four-star corner prospect) over there and he's one of the top guys around so I'll enjoy going up against him." Reese, 6-foot-3 and 180 pounds, had previously scheduled a visit to Purdue for November 1 but said that will likely get rescheduled. "I actually have a homecoming that weekend," he said. "I'm either gonna go there on October 25th when they play Minnesota or I'll go later in the year." Reese's first visit is scheduled to take place next weekend. "Me and the twins (Isaac Geffard and Jacob Geffard) are going up to Minnesota next weekend," he said. "We're real excited about it because we all like Minnesota a lot. It should be a lot of fun for us." The standout receiver prospect has not yet scheduled any other visits but is still talking to several other schools. "I actually went to the FIU/USF game and we were talking to Coach Cristobal," he said. "He's real excited about us. Him and our coach go way back and he's doing some nice things there. I'm still looking at them and I'm still talking to Vanderbilt. I still talk to Kansas State and they might be offering me soon. I still talk each week to Coach Gonzales at Florida, too." Reese said the Gators have not offered him yet and are hoping to continue evaluating him. "He said they're just waiting on my senior film to see what they're gonna do," he said. "It's just a wait and see thing with them."
