WR Lamar Scruggs playing it close to the vest

The 6' 2", 215 pound wide out out of Duncan U Fletcher has picked up right where he left off last season.

"Through three games, I have 380 receiving yards and 4 TD's with 13 catches," added Lamar Scruggs. "We are 3-0 and everybody is focused to go out with a bag. This is my senior year, so we have no other choice."

Lamar is averaging almost 30 yards per catch this season after averaging a little less than 20 last year. Why the increase?

"My route running is much better. I am making my sticks. I am a lot quicker on my cuts and getting off the line. I put in a lot of hard work this summer."

Scout.com's #50 rated wide receiver has only had a chance to take in one college game this fall.

"I have just been so busy with my team. I just have not had a chance to tour too many schools. I went to the Miami/Florida game. The atmosphere was crazy. It was real loud, real loud. It was a good experience."

Scruggs has over 40 D1 offers. Which ones are keeping in weekly phone contact?

"Florida, South Carolina, Illinois, South Carolina, Tennessee, West Virginia, Michigan, South Florida, and Clemson. Those schools are staying the most consistent."

Any official visits been set up?

"No, I plan on taking some after the season is over. I am just trying to focus on my team and finishing with a state championship."

Which schools does Lamar want to check out after the season is over?

"I do not know, probably Florida, South Carolina, Tennessee, South Florida, Illinois, and Clemson."

What will Lamar look at while he is on his visits?

"I just wanted to be coached up and have a chance to make a big impact in their offense."
