"We're 5-1 right now," said Stewart. "Our only loss is to Jackson Prep. We play Jackson Academy this week at Jackson Academy for their homecoming."
Steven believes an on the field exhibition earlier this year has given both teams a chance to size the other up.
"I feel pretty good about the game," said the personable Stewart. "We have a good team and we are all working hard. We played them in a jamboree and I think we got a good look at them. It should be a good game."
It appears Steven has saved his best effort for last. He is the team's leading tackler and one of the top tacklers in all of MPSA. Some time on the summer combine and camp circuit appears to be paying some dividends.
"Overall I just feel I am playing better," said Stewart. "I went to a lot of camps this summer and I picked up a lot from working with those coaches and competing against the other players.
"When you to camps you're getting to compete against players from all over and not just one area. There is a lot of good competition. It's helped me a lot. I feel like I am playing at a higher level."
A few college coaches have noticed Steven's improved play and are staying in contact with him as the season progresses.
"I am getting some letters from Yale and I am getting a few from Ole Miss," said Stewart. "I have been to some Ole Miss games on unofficial visits and I have talked with the coaches some.I am getting a some things from Vanderbilt and SMU too.
"I am about to get my mid-season highlight tape together and send it out."
Stewart is waiting for his first offer, but he has plans to take in unofficial visits to SMU, Southern Miss and Yale later this fall.
