Noxubee County standout looking for revenge

The 6' 2", 210 pound receiver set the Magnolia state on fire last season when he had over 1, 400 yards receiving while leading his team to the State Championship game.

This year, Noxubee County and Pat Patterson have gotten off to another quick start.

"We beat New Hope 44-7 last Friday," added Scout.com's #45 nationally ranked receiver. "We are now 4-0. We have outscored our opponents something like 160 - 14. I think I have 386 receiving yards and 6 TD's so far. I have only been playing a couple quarters a game because we get up so big, but our young guys are getting a lot of experience so that is a good thing for us."

Patterson has seen the biggest improvement in his game from his routes.

"I have been pretty much running on the fly before, but I am getting better with my techniques and routes. My routes have improved the most."

There is one thing that Pat still wants to work on.

"I need to get better separation from the defender. That is the main thing I am working on."

Tonight, Noxubee County faces one of their nemesis.

"We play West Point. I am personally motivated because we have not beat them in 6 years. It motivates me because this may be my last time to I get to face those guys (at West Point)."

Pat decided to open back up his recruitment recently when he decommitted from the Mississippi State Bulldogs. Which schools are in the picture now?

"I am mostly talking to USM, Ole Miss, and Auburn."

What did Coach Hughes have to say for Southern Miss?

"Coach Hughes talked to me about how I have a good chance to come in and start and get a lot of playing time as a true freshman."

What did Coach Nix say for Ole Miss?

"They are probably coming after me the hardest now. I spoke to Coaches Nix and Nutt the other day, and they were just telling me how they have turned their program around and how they get the ball to all of their playmakers."

And what was Coach Dunn's message for Auburn?

"They are talking about how they are in the spread offense now. They think I can be a big part of their offense if I sign there."

Does Pat have a leader yet?

"Not really. I am just keeping an open mind this time. I committed too early last time, and I want to really look into everybody's program before I do that again."
