Sacramento (Calif.) McClatchy offensive lineman David Cundiff (6-3, 285), continues to go about his senior season, while waiting for his first offer.
Several colleges have been showing interest in the sleeper, so he’s just staying patient while the scouting continues.
“I’ve been getting letters from Washington a lot. I went up and visited there during the summer. They’re actually recruiting me as a defensive tackle. Everyone else is looking at me as an offensive guard. And I’ve been working on my long snapping to help me out too.”
Cundiff has also been hearing from a slew of other schools.
“I’ve been getting letters from Nevada and there was a scout at our games from Idaho and Northern Arizona. Washington State is also interested and I love Cal-Berkeley. I went to their camp,” said Cundiff.
Cundiff said that while the offers haven’t come in yet, he’s feeling confident that one could happen.
“Washington is probably my best bet. I get letters from them every week,” said Cundiff. “Columbia and Stony Brook have also been interested but I’d like to stay on the West Coast. I think it would be fun to go to college across the country, but I’d like to stay out here.”
Cundiff said his top five was Washington, Washington State, Northern Arizona, Boise State and Cal. And he’s open to playing on either side of the ball.
“I like defense a lot more, but I think I’m better at offense,” said Cundiff. “I just think I’d have more fun playing on defense.”
Academically, Cundiff is in solid shape, carrying a 3.6 GPA and scoring a 1790 on his first attempt at the SAT, which he took a second time over the weekend.
