Alabama '10 WR Holds Elite Offers

Jeremy Richardson, 2010 wide receiver from Springville, Ala., is a huge target and has already earned several big offers. Richardson talked about the offers and several schools showing early interest.

"I have received offers from LSU, Alabama and Tennessee State," said Jeremy Richardson. "LSU offered me a while back. I was just recently offered by Alabama. Nebraska, Duke, UAB and Auburn are showing interest as well."

"I am real excited and happy about the offers. I am very surprised I have received offers this early. It's only my junior year, and I already have some really good offers. It's great."

The 6-foot-4, 205-pound prospect took his first unofficial visit of the season to Alabama. He plans to visit Auburn Saturday and trips are on the agenda to Florida and LSU later this year.

"The visit to Alabama was great," he said. "The visit was fun. I talked to Nick Saban and the receivers coach [Curt Cignetti]. They said they talked to my head coach and heard a lot of good things. They said they liked what they saw. They said they could see me starting as a freshman."

"It's really nice down there. I think Alabama is a real good place to go to. The practice field and weight room is really nice. It's a good place to go."

Richardson's early favorites include Alabama, Auburn, LSU, Florida and Florida State.

"I went down to Auburn last year. The atmosphere is great. The fans are really open. They treat everyone like family. The academics are good. I have talked to coach [Terry] Price about that. They concentrate on their academics more than football," Richardson explained.

"I haven't been to LSU, Florida or Florida State yet. I have to get down there to check out those schools. I really won't know much until I visit. I know they are all really good schools."

Richardson has plenty of time to take a closer at all options before making a decision.

"I am going to wait it out until my senior year to make a decision," he said. "I am pretty much going to be looking at the academics."

Richardson talked about strengths and what he hopes to improve as a high school prospect.

"My biggest strength is that I can out jump everyone," he said. "I am faster and stronger than everyone I go up against. I have good vision like a running back. I used to play running back as a junior. I need to get stronger, faster. You can never be strong or fast enough. I work on these things everyday."

Richardson has some impressive stats through six games of the 2008 season hauling in 33 receptions for 843 yards and 13 touchdowns. Springville will travel Friday to Cullman.
