Eric McDaniel and the Calhoun (GA) Yellow Jackets got off to a slow start this season against Dalton…
Georgia DT Makes Decision
"I have committed to Purdue," said Eric McDaniel. "I called coach Z [Ed Zaunbrecher] and coach [Danny] Hope. I really talked to every coach for a least a second. They said they were all very excited. They have been waiting on me to commit." "I took my visit up there and realized it was the perfect fit for me. My dad and I liked it a lot. They have a great academic program." "They have a history of going to bowl games. They have a great town and great school. I liked all the players. They made me feel like I was already a part of the team." McDaniel is regarded as one of the top defensive lineman in the Peach State. He is excited about the opportunity to play for the Boilermakers. "I was recruited strictly as a defensive tackle," he explained. "I am real excited about going up there. The Big 10 is a great conference. There is a lot of great competition up there. There are some big rivalries. I am going up there to compete and hopefully earn early playing time." "I feel like before I go up there I need to work on my hands coming off the ball. I need to work on my overall conditioning. I need to get in the best shape I can to prepare for college football." The three-star prospect talked about the relationship with the Purdue coaching staff. "My relationship with the coaches is pretty good," he said. "I have talked to coach 'Z' since my junior year. It was one of the reasons why I committed. I had built a good relationship was coach 'Z' and coach Hope. I had a good vibe from them. They have a good thing going on, and I want to be a part of it."
