Scout.com's #29 nationally rated cornerback has seen his season get off to a familiar start.

"We are doing pretty good. We haven't lost yet," added Henry County's quarterback, Marsalis Teague. "We just need to keep doing what we are doing. If we do that, everything is going to take care of itself and we should come out on top."

The 5' 10", 180 signal caller finished his junior season with 1,616 yards passing yards, 1,530 yards rushing and 33 TD's. This year he is on track to surpass those totals.

"I have gotten bigger, faster, and stronger since last season. I am a lot quicker. I also have a year more experience. Last year I was relying on my strong arm and feet, but this year my arm is even stronger, my footwork is better, but I also have way more knowledge. I am just a way better player than I was last year."

Although Teague has made his mark at quarterback, he is being recruited for cornerback on the next level.

"That's what they all like me for. I started at cornerback my sophomore year, and last year I started out at QB, but I still got in some reps at CB. It is nothing new for me."

Colleges from coast to coast have lined up with hopes of landing this 4-Star recruit out of Paris (TN), but who are the colleges that are being the most consistent with their recruitment with Marsalis?

"I receive calls from all of the schools who have offered me, but out of those, the ones who call me the most are Miami, Florida, Clemson, Tennessee, Georgia Tech, Ole Miss, Vandy, and Michigan."

Marsalis took in an official visit to Florida this past weekend and left impressed.

"The atmosphere was eletric. The stadium gets real loud there. I like their staff a lot too. They made me feel wanted. Everything was all good up there."

Teague set up two more official visits to Clemson (11/24) and Tennessee (12/13). Who is in the running for the last two slots?

"Really all of the schools who are showing me a lot of interest, I am still interested in them too. I have already visited Vandy, Clemson, Ole Miss, Tennessee, Miami, and Georgia Tech unofficially this year, so I have pretty much seen what everybody has to offer."

What did he learn about each school?

Vandy - "I like Coach Johnson a lot. He is a great coach. It is not too far from home, so my mom can come and see my games. Proximity is not really a factor, but my mom is interested in me staying close to home. Plus they play in the SEC and it is a great academic instiutation. They sell the academic prestigue to me."

Clemson - "I went over there this summer. I talk to Coach Swinney a lot. We set up an official visit. I really do not know what to think with Coach Bowden being gone, if Coach Swinney will stay or not. But he will have a lot to do (with my decision). I hope they do keep him because I like all of that talent they have on the field. I also like the environment around there. Their stadium is awesome, and they have a real nice weight room. I had a good time up their. They are really selling the atmosphere of game day and being in a small college town."

Ole Miss - I went over there last Spring for Jr Day. They want me to play CB too. I liked their facilities, and it is also close to home. The staff stands out to me too. Coach Nutt is bringing in that winning attitude. He is bringing in that McPhadden offense to Ole Miss. They are fun to watch. Coach Markuson wants me to come down there and run the Wild Rebel. They want me to take over for #22 (Dexter McCluster). They think we are a lot alike"

Georgia Tech - "They are really high on my list too. I like their staff a lot, and I had a real good time over there when I went on my visit. They are selling me on coming in there next year, starting, and making an impact."

Florida - I just like their program a lot. They are selling me on playing for the premier program in the country."

Miami - "I like the direction their program is headed in. I also like their coaching staff. I am going over there unofficially after my season is over. They are selling me on coming to an academic prestigues school. It sells itself. They just hope I can come in and take a visit see what all it has to offer."

Tennessee - "They are a big instate school, and a lot of people from around here go there. I have built a good relationship with Coaches Fulmer, Scott, and Slade. I am going over there for the second weekend in December. They are really selling me on staying home for the flagship school in Tennessee."

Which coach has Teague built the closest relationship?

"I would probably say Coach Johnson for Vandy. He was the first coach to offer me, and we built an immediate relationship."

One more college is still keeping in weekly contact.

"Coach Dews at Michigan calls a lot. They want me to come and see the Big House. They are selling me on their academic prestigue and playing in the Big House."

Grades should not be a concern as Teague reports a 4.0 GPA/21 ACT.
