Recruiting Is Heating Up For Pace

Preston Pace is doing everything he can to garner the attention of college coaches. Over the next couple of weeks, Pace will send out his highlight film to coaches from all over the country. So far, interest is picking up.

"Our season is going good," stated Preston Pace. "We're 6-0. We've had a few close games but we've pulled through so far."

How did the Floridian end up in California?

"I had a lot of offers out of high school but I didn't qualify. I was talking to a coach out of Minnesota and he told me to check out the California JuCo system. I decided to give it a look and I found Butte."

What schools are in contact with Pace?

"Minnesota offered me today, South Florida, New Mexico, Oregon State, and Hawaii send me letters and call. I got in contact with Ole Miss because I know some of their players like Dexter McCluster, Andrew Harris and Lawon Scott. They say it's a good deal down there. I sent my film to the Ole Miss Coaches and they said they had to have me. They think I can come in right away and play. I know that I want to go to Ole Miss. We're trying to set up a visit for November 28th. I think seeing the school will make me comfortable. That's the school I want to be at though. I sent film to Hawaii as well. I think I'm going to visit there on December the 6th."

Pace admits that his size and speed are his greatest attributes.

"Most schools want me at CB. I'm 6'1 195lbs and I run a 4.35 forty. I think my size and speed help me against bigger receivers. I've only had four passes thrown my way all year. It gets boring sometimes (laugh). I take pride in being a shut down corner."

When does Pace plan on finishing school?

"I plan to graduate in May." Recommended Stories
