Anthem (Az.) Boulder Creek QB Taylor Davis gets first…
Great Season Boosting Recruitment of Davis
What a difference a year makes. Last year's stats for Anthem (Az.) Boulder Creek quarterback Taylor Davis will not blow you away. He threw for just 855 yards and 9 TDs. He spent the offseason training hard and attending camps while improving his technique. The hard work has paid off.Through seven games, Davis (6-3 190) has thrown for 1,380 yards, is completing over 66% of his passes and has thrown 13 TDs while only throwing three interceptions. His team is 5-2, already topping last year's four win total. What does Davis credit for the vast improvement? "Over the summer I attended a lot of camps and that really helped me, " he says. "I learned to make my reads and make better decisions."The improved play has led several schools to get in touch with Davis. He says, "Idaho has talked to me about a possible visit. Boise talks to me every week."He also says that Nevada and New Mexico State have been in contact.Taylor does not currently have an offer but his head coach Dan Friedman's advice is to "be patient".Davis adds, "I didn't have a great year (as a junior) and I think most schools are waiting to see how I develop as a senior."If the last half of his senior year is as good as his first, Davis could see some offers come his way.
