2010 RB Picks Up Another Offer
Cedar Hill's Ben Malena is one of the top RB prospects in the state of Texas for the 2010 class. He previously held an Iowa offer before Big 12 North member Kansas extended theirs. The 5-10 185 pound RB had been waiting for this letter to hit his mailbox for quite some time. "I just got my Kansas offer," said Malena. "I was waiting for that one. They were at the top of my list or one of the top teams." Malena likes the direction Kansas' is heading and also says that offensive scheme fits his style of play. "They're a big time program. They lost a couple games but they're still one of the better teams in the country and they've been recruiting good players." As for the offensive scheme, Malena says, "The way they play, they need a running back that can do a lot. They pass all the time so you have to catch out of the backfield but blocking is key too. You also have to be able to make people miss in space. I'd be good in their offense and I think I can help them." Malena is also hearing from Texas, Baylor, and Arkansas.
