Hawkins Set for Thursday

Scout.com got in contact with one of the more heavily recruited recruits in the Northeast this evening by messenger as he has shut off communication with the press until his announcement. During our conversation we did confirm the time and date of when Gaithersburg, Md., product Travis Hawkins will be making his college announcement.

Travis Hawkins, a 5-foot-11, 185-pound cornerback from Quince Orchard High School will announce his college decision on Thursday at 11am at his school. The four-star prospect told Scout.com on Tuesday night that his four finalists are Penn State, Maryland, Oregon and Michigan and that he would be recruiting Jason Ankrah to follow him to his college destination, which could make his future home a bit more clear.

One could think that him having to “recruit” Ankrah to his school of choice rules out Penn State in the equation and points toward Maryland which has been rumored, but having dealt with Hawkins throughout the process, he is a young man that is full of surprises, so guesser beware.
