Canton and Lanier both saw their seasons come to an end this past Friday night. Both programs have some players who should continue their football careers after their high school days are done. Road Report
Terrance Sample Canton HS (MS) S / #14
C/O 2010
Scout's Take: I first got to know Sample last season after watching him play against Ridgeland. Terrance has the build and the instincts to make a fine college safety. He is quick to the point of contact and is more often the hammer rather than the nail. He moved around a good bit on Friday night because the Tigers were hurting for defensive playmakers. He has a bright future.
Jacorie Ousley Canton HS (MS) RB
C/O 2010
Scout's Take: Jacorie had to sit out this past Friday due to a high ankle sprain. He ran for over 1,000 yards as a sophomore and he will be one of the top instate prospects at his position for the 2010 signing class.
Terrence James Lanier HS (MS) LB / #9
C/O 2009
Scout's Take: James is one of the first players most people notice when Lanier gets off the bus. He has a very good frame to add some bulk. He pursues the ball well and he is able to use his extremely long arms to keep blockers off of him. He is beginning to get some attention is a prime example of a good player working his way into some consideration with a strong senior season.
Kenneth Fleming Lanier HS (MS) LB / #30
C/O 2009
Scout's Take: Fleming is another big hitter who prides himself on delivering the blow. He really does a good job diagnosing the play and getting off blocks. He is really a handful for a running back looking to clear the hole.
Ronald Perry Lanier HS (MS) OG|DT / #59
C/O 2011
Scout's Take: Perry may have the most upside of any of the prospects on the field this past Friday night. He has the size and attitude college recruiters are looking for. He still has a lot of development in front of him, but the potential is there for him to be a top recruit in the state.
Shaquille Smith Lanier HS(MS) LB / #42
C/O 2011
Scout's Take: Smith is a lot of fun to watch. He has very good closing speed and he does not shy away from contact. He has a lot to learn about the game, but the raw materials are there for development. He has a passion for the game and he plays with a lot of energy.
