Encino (Calif.) Crespi running back Jeremiah McKibbins has made his college choice, and he'll be heading east to West Point.
"Jeremiah talked with Coach (Stan) Brock and Coach Tuitele and committed to play football at West Point for Army," said his father, Phillip.
Army was the first to offer McKibbins, and their interest was reciprocated.
"He appreciated their honesty and how straightforward they were with him," said his father. "That meant a lot to him."
His family was somewhat surprised at the decision, but McKibbins had good reason.
"Watching the election and seeing the events of the election, he wanted to have an opportunity to represent the country in some way," said his father. "It surprised us that he chose Army, but he's a man of his word and we are so proud of him for making this decision."
