De-commitment Won't Effect Kande's Decision
Rated as the No. 26th CB in the nation, Prinz Kande is the most celebrated commit in Kansas's 2009 class. Kande gave his verbal pledge to Kansas back in June alongside current Trinity (TX) High School teammate Earnest Norman. Fast forward five months and things are slightly different. Norman has since de-committed and is now headed to Nebraska with another Trinity High School teammate, Tray Robinson. With the shake up, eyes have turned to Kande to see how he will react to the situation. "I [ain't] going anywhere. Right now, I'm still going to Kansas," said Kande. "I'm not looking at any other schools. I would of liked to play with Earnest but I have to do what is best for me. I won't say anything can't happen but for now, I'm happy with my decision and I'm done with recruiting." Kande admits that the speculation of a de-commitment wasn't only by those in the recruiting service world. "It was kind of funny cause I talk to Coach Bowen once a week and I think they were nervous that I was going to de-commit too. I told them that they didn't have to worry because I wasn't going anywhere." Good news for the Jayhawk faithful but that hasn't stopped schools from trying to swing the pendulum in their favor. "After Earnest starting talking to Nebraska, they have been recruiting me hard. They tell me that they want me real bad and now Earnest and Tray want me to go up there with them. Oklahoma State is recruiting me too. They haven't offered but they said that they would if I wanted to go there. They are leaving it up to me and Louisville has offered me." FYI Kande has been hampered but a nagging hamstring injury but says that it is back to 100 percent and is ready for the playoffs. Kande and Trinity are undefeated and start the first round of playoffs against Flower Mound Marcus. Marcus has another KU commit in OL Ty Cloud. Scout.com will keep a keen eye out for the recruiting activity surrounding Kande over the coming months to bring you any breaking news.
