Simi Valley (Calif.) receiver Keith Williams (6-3, 185), was one of the top performers at the UnderArmour/Scout.com Combine in Los Angeles, earning all-combine honors.
Williams, with good size and very good hands, has a real ability to catch the ball and while working with Fusion Football, has refined his ability to play the receiver position.
Now Williams is hoping that it translates into offers, of which he’s waiting for the first one.
“Arizona, Idaho and Utah have been in contact with me and I also like Sam Houston State, Colorado and some schools on the east coast. Nebraska, Wyoming and Texas Tech are also schools I’m interested in,” said Williams.
Williams said he could play safety in college, but receiver is where his looks are coming at, and where he wants to play in college.
“I play a little safety but most schools are looking at me as a safety,” said Williams.
Williams has yet to take an official visit, but he’s hoping to.
“No one has set up a visit with me, but I’d like to take a couple. I’m open to going across the country, or staying nearby,” said Williams. “I just want to play somewhere. My family is supportive of me wherever I go. The JC route is a possibility and I could walk-on somewhere. It will all work out though.”
Williams said his top five schools were Colorado, Nebraska, Wyoming, Texas Tech and Sam Houston.
This summer, he camped at Arizona for their 1-Day Camp.
On the season, he’s averaging 15 yards per reception.
Academically, Williams has a 2.5 GPA and scored a 1400 on the SAT.
