Jevone Lawson Ready For Visit

Javone Lawson is getting it done on the field. After nine games the talented Helen Cox athlete has 59 catches, 897 yards and 15 TDs. Tonight Cox will gear up for the first round of the playoffs and look to take his team one step closer to winning a state championship.

"I think Ole Miss and UConn are close to offering me," stated Javone Lawson. "They both stay in contact with me. UConn wants to see game film and then they say they will offer. I think Ole Miss will offer me this weekend."

Lawson plans on taking an unofficial visit to Oxford to watch Ole Miss and Louisiana Monroe play Saturday.

"Ole Miss sent me a letter asking me to come up to the game. I got my coach to give them a call and set something up and he did. I can't wait to visit. I'm going to ride up there with my coaches."

Despite not having any offers, Javone is hearing from several schools.

"I am hearing from Ole Miss, UConn, Louisiana Monroe, Southeastern Louisiana, Tulane, Grambling, and Louisiana Tech. Ole Miss and UConn stand out. They are calling me the most and recruiting me the hardest."

Would an offer this weekend cause Lawson to commit?

"Honestly, I'm not sure. I think I will wait and see what other schools do. But Ole Miss has always been there recruiting me. They have never stopped talking to me. I plan on waiting until the season is over to take my official visits and I want to learn about each school that is recruiting me."

What will be the deciding factor in Lawson's decision?

"I want to take visits and see if the school is right for me. I want to talk with my family and friends before making a decision. I will decide after the season."

The talented Louisiana star admits that his main focus is the upcoming playoff game.

"We're 6-3 right now. We play our first playoff game tonight and I can't wait. Most people think this game will be close. I think we match up with them pretty well and I can't wait to get on the field."

Lawson plans on majoring in Sports Medicine after choosing a school.
