Every time Dearborn Fordson has been down this year, it seems like senior Hassan Amen comes up with something to lift his team.
Described as 65% before the game with a sprained ankle, you wondered if he would be able to do it again on Friday night. Detroit Southeastern held a 6-3 lead in the 3rd quarter and the Jungaleers had all the momentum. That's when Amen stepped in front of an Edward Thomas pass and returned it into Southeastern territory.
He capped off the drive with a one yard touchdown plunge. On the very next series, Amen again picked off a pass, this time from Will Sturges to set up an Ali Alaboody touchdown.
Southeastern would hang tough as Thomas connected with Sturges on a 75-yard pass to set up a Donovan Wilson touchdown to pull the score to 15-12, but Fordson would answer with a pass from Ali Baidoun to Baquer Sayed to put the Tractors back up by 10 and they would never look back, going onto win 29-18.
Amen finished with 90 yards on 12 carries, one touchdown and the two picks on defense. Alaboody scored the one touchdown and had 72 yards rushing. Senior defensive lineman had two sacks and a forced fumble.
Sturges had five receptions for 129 yards for the Jungaleers. Darryl Pitts hauled in five for 79 yards and two touchdowns. Junior linebacker William Gholston had 11 tackles and a sack in the losing effort.
