"Pretty much everybody picked us to lose," said the talented wideout. "The only papers that picked us to win was in the delta. Most people didn't think we could win."
Magnolia Heights won earlier in the year 28-7. Washington nearly flipped the score as they won last Friday 26-7.
"They were the more physical team and they outplayed us the first time we played them," said Ryan. "Our coach told us that they hadn't played in the fourth quarter in their last three games or so. We had to play into the fourth in our last five games, so I think we had a little more left in the tank late in the game.
"We made some big plays this time too and I think that was the difference in the ball game."
Elliot is now ready to get serious about his recruitment and finding a place to continue his football career while furthering his education.
"Delta State and Mississippi Delta both say I have an offer," said Ryan. "I have heard rumors that Ole Miss and Mississippi State are going to start talking to me, but I haven't heard anything from them.
"I have been to a game at Delta State and I have been to some games at Arkansas, Ole Miss and Mississippi State. I am going to be sending tape to all of those schools. I am working on getting that together now."
