Slow Time for Jordan Smith

Jordan Smith has done a bit of everything on offense, defense and special teams this season to help Steel High continue their playoff push in hopes of becoming the Pennsylvania Class A state champions. We caught up with him on Thursday night to talk about his recruiting process and unfortunately, it sounds like things have slowed.

Jordan Smith, a 5-foot-10, 180-pound two-star cornerback from Steelton-Highspire High School has notched five interceptions, one rushing touchdown and four receiving touchdowns in the Steamrollers high-powered rushing attack this season, however since his teammate Jordan Hill committed he has seen his recruiting go south.

“Mail has really stopped coming for me and everyone else lately, but I’m focused on the task at hand right now, so I’ll worry about that later,” Smith offered. “I did go see Temple play against Ohio and Connecticut this season and had a lot of fun at both of those games.”

“A coach from there came into the school about two weeks ago and I think the hold up with a lot of programs is that I haven’t taken the SAT yet, so I’m going to be taking that on December 6th,” Smith added. “I like Temple because it’s pretty close to home and they play at a professional stadium which is really cool. I think I’d have the opportunity to play early and the coaches and players are all cool. My boy Adrian Robinson tells me a lot of good things about them too which is nice.”

Smith is a very talented athlete that could be a late offer player, so definitely keep an eye on his recruiting.
