As predicted by Midwest Recruiting & Film Evaluation last week. A.J. Johnson visited Iowa and he gave the Hawkeyes his verbal commitment.

"The environment and the comfort level that I had at Iowa just made me feel better than any place else." said running back A.J. Johnson.

"Iowa has a great coaching staff and they've recruited me hard since I was a sophomore.

"Iowa is an up and coming program and the fan support is incredible."

Johnson, a 6-foot, 225-pounder, from Bolingbrook, Illinois was a three-year varsity starter for the Raiders.

Johnson had originally made a verbal commitment to Illinois in the spring.

Did Illinois pull Johnson's offer when he decided to visit Iowa?

"Originally, Illinois told me that they were going to pull my scholarship but coach Jackson came to my house and said that I should take the visit and make a decision." Johnson said.

Johnson is a talented athlete that will be a solid contributer to the Hawkeye program in the near future.

Johnson is the #54 ranked running back prospect according to
