Navarro Junior College star Roy Watts is preparing for official visits after a difficult loss to Blinn in the conference championship. The former Texas signee currently has three visits scheduled. Go inside to read more.
"Our season is over," stated
Roy Watts
. "We were ranked #1 for eight weeks during the season. We lost in the conference championship to Blinn. We beat them earlier in the year but our last game we didn't play well. We thought we'd get a bowl game in Mississippi but they gave it to Georgia Military School. We beat them earlier in the year too. We're not sure why we didn't get a bowl game."
With the season over, the talented JuCo OL has focused on recruiting.
"I'm visiting
Ole Miss
this weekend (11/28),
Miami
12/6, and
Houston
12/12."
How does Watts feel about those schools?
"Ole Miss is playing really well. They've beaten LSU and
Florida
this year. Miami is a great program that is always good and Houston is where my family is. They really except my family there. I am still leaning to Houston. I am still committed to them."
Has Watts received any new offers?
"I just got an offer from
Texas A&M
and
Florida State
."
What other schools are in the running for the last two visits?
"I hope to visit Florida State and maybe
Utah
. Florida State offered me not to long ago. That's a really good offer. I want to visit them and learn more about them."
When will Watts make a decision?
"I will be able to graduate in December and enroll in any of the schools recruiting me. I would like to make a decision around the early signing period."
What will be deciding factors in Watts' recruitment?
"I'm a family man first. The school I choose has to accept my family. I need to find a place that will be good for my family. I also need to be able to step in and play. I only have two years left and I want to make sure that they are the best two years of my life."
Watts admits that his decision gets more difficult with each offer he receives.
"It gets more difficult by the day. I keep getting offers from great schools and I don't want to rule them out but I have to decide by the end of December."
