One of the defensive stalwarts for Westlake Village (Calif.) Oaks Christian this year has been junior linebacker Zac Stout.
Stout will be one of the top linebackers in the West in the class of 2010 and the Lions' game against Santa Clara was a workmanlike effort for him. Stout played in the middle for Oaks but he's got the size to play either on the strongside or speed to play weakside.
His versatility will be what helps him play early in college in that he really could play any of the three linebacker positions in college. Stout plays well in space but really stood out against the run. He's physical and did a good job of shedding his blocks. He's also a pretty sure tackler and finished with eight tackles.
BYU, Oregon State and Arizona have already offered Stout.
Here are clips of Stout against Santa Clara.
