Las Vegas (Nev.) Sierra Vista running back Akil Sharp just put the final touches on a fine senior season.
Sharp exploded onto the scene this spring and summer, with several standout performances on the camp and combine circuit.
At the Badger/New Level 7-on-7 tournament in his hometown, Sharp was named to the All-Camp team after helping the hosts into the quarterfinals.
He followed it up with MVP performances at a couple more camps and its translated just fine onto the field this fall.
Sharp, already pretty explosive, showed the willingness to run between the tackles and take on more contact, and at 5-9, 200, isn't afraid to get physical.
As a 2008 senior, Sharp rushed for 1,641 yards and 21 touchdowns. He had 70 tackles, four forced fumbles and a fumble recovery for a touchdown. Sharp added 475 yards in returns, including one for a score and blocked a field goal.
