New Schools Approach Brazinski
Mark Brazinski is not your typical high school recruit. He has business cards, wears tuxedo shirts on unofficial visits and is very methodical in his recruitment, especially when it comes to researching the academic integrity of a school. When you add those qualities to a 6-foot-4, 285-pound frame this center from Immaculata High School in New Jersey is a very intriguing young player for coaches right now. "Right now I'm very excited because we're playing for the state title on Friday night against St. Joseph's Montvale," Brazinski said. "They are very good against the run, but we have a great back in Theo Riddick and I'm confident we'll get the job done this weekend. I'm also really excited because I will be playing in the Under-Armour game now as well." "Recruiting has been changing up a bit for me lately as some new schools have come into the picture," Brazinski explained. "Stanford came out to watch me practice this week and we've been talking a lot. I have always been drawn to an Ivy League type of atmosphere and education and I love that Stanford is basically the Ivy League with palm trees. I'm definitely very interested in them, so we'll wait and see what happens." "Two other schools that have stepped up recently are California and Georgia Tech which are both obviously very good schools. I actually was doing some research on Cal recently and found that their HASS business school is ranked third in the country. I've also made it a point to put on some film of their center Alex Mack who is definitely one of the best at his position in the entire country." What will be interesting to see is whether or not Brazinski will find a school he's comfortable enough at on the FBS level or if he will stay closer to home and end up attending an Ivy League school as academics are clearly priority number one for him.
