The 5' 9" scat back out of Hallandale (FL) has been on a tear in the Dade/Broward county surrounding area.
"I lead the county in rushing with over 1, 500 yards and 15 TD's," added
Korvic Neat
. "I have 108 carries on the year."
Neat has been selected to play in the prestigious Dade/Broward All-Star game on January 16th for his on the field accomplishments.
"It is going to be a lot of fun. You look around the league (NFL) and there are players all over who played in this game. This game has a lot of history to it."
The FIU soft verbal had a chance to go watch them play last weekend.
"I went over there and watched them play La Monroe. They were down pretty big, but they came back and almost won. They lost 31-28."
Korvic has been a hot topic in the Miami surrounding area as of late.
"I guess people started paying attention to me when I was the rushing leader. North Carolina, Rutgers, Ole Miss, Kentucky, Iowa State, and Southern Mississippi have all offered me recently. They have been talking pretty good. Oregon has been talking to me a lot. It has really picked up."
Is Korvic surprised by the renewed interest he is receiving?
"Yes, I was not expecting it, but I think I deserve it because I have proven myself."
Neat will be taking a trip to the SEC this weekend.
"I am going over to Ole Miss this weekend. Me and
Ricardo Dixon
are going over there together."
What does Korvic know about Ole Miss?
"Coaches Vaughn and Nutt have been calling me a lot. I talk to them pretty much every week. They are real humble. Coach Vaughn came by my house Tuesday. He really likes me a lot, and I hear a lot of good things about Ole Miss from the players around this area who play in the SEC"
What will Neat focus on while he is on the visit?
"I want to see how the coaches interact with the players, and what kind of atmosphere the school has, as a whole."
What attracted the Miami resident to FIU?
"They have a young team, and I can see they are growing. It is also close to home. It is only a 20 minute drive. They have good academics as well."
