Devin Figaro didn't know what to expect when he arrived at Hargrave. He soon discovered that he would be challenged in a number of areas. Go inside to read more.
The road to Hargrave Prep School was an interesting one for
Devin Figaro
. After failing to qualify out of High School (Lafayette, LA), Figaro spoke with close friend and LSU RB,
Keiland Williams
.
"I didn't know what I was going to do," added Devin Figaro. "I was trying to research my options after High School and Keiland Williams told me about Hargrave. He told me that it was a great place so I decided to give it a try."
Figaro believes that Hargrave has challenged him in a number of areas including the classroom.
"Hargrave has been a good experience for me. In High School you do what you want, but not here. They're preparing you for college. We have study hall every day and we have to keep things in line."
Figaro admits that the competition on the gridiron is also challenging.
"Things move a lot faster. The coaches are really serious. I go up against a great secondary every day. I think I've helped them and they've helped me. We play college teams and it gives us an idea of what we need to do to get to the next level."
That work seems to be paying off. Figaro claims six offers and is preparing to gear up for recruiting season.
"I have offers from ECU,
Akron
,
Marshall
,
UAB
,
Tulane
, and
Ole Miss
. I haven't set up any visits yet but I'm working on one with UAB."
It's no surprise that teams are taking notice of Figaro after a solid season.
"I'm not sure of my exact numbers but I had around 20 catches for 600 yards and 9 TDs."
The Scout.com 3 star prospect believes that his size and speed are his greatest strengths on the field.
"Right now I'm 6'3 195lbs and I run the forty in the low 4.4s. The last time I was clocked in the forty I ran a 4.43. I think my size and speed help me against smaller defenders."
Figaro claims no leaders and is focused on finishing strong in the classroom while continuing to research the schools recruiting him.
"I graduate in May. I'm working on my GPA and I think I'm going to keep my ACT score. I'm trying to look in to all the school recruiting me so that I know as much about them as possible before I make my decision."
