Army All-American tailback Kendrick Hardy took his first official visit to Ole Miss over the weekend. What were the Lawrence County standout’s impressions? Read about it inside
How did your first official visit go?
“It went good,” said the always soft-spoken
Kendrick Hardy
. “My mom and dad went with me. They liked it. I was focused on seeing the community and meeting the players. It went good.”
Hardy was able to take in an Ole Miss practice and was pleased with what he saw.
“I really like the way they practice,” he added. “They’re all real excited and that’s what I wanted to see. The players get into it. I liked it.”
Junior
Markeith Summers
was Hardy’s player host, so what questions did he have for the wide out?
“I really wanted to know how hard they work in practice and if they are that excited all the time,” said Hardy. “Markeith (Summers) said they always practiced like that. I like that.”
Hardy and many other prospects were shown around the town with their player hosts. What did Kendrick learn about Oxford that he possibly didn’t know before?
“Oxford isn’t really that big,” he said. “That didn’t matter though. I still had a good time and enjoyed the community. The size of the town really won’t matter.”
Since an inhome visit with Coach Kim Dameron Tuesday, Hardy had been leaning toward committing to Ole Miss. Did he give his pledge to the Red and Blue this weekend?
“I didn’t commit this weekend,” he explained. “I enjoyed my visit, but I still got to go on some more. I’ll go to Southern Miss next. It’s really between them and Ole Miss.”
Before he left, Scout.com’s #45 nationally ranked RB was able to meet with head coach Houston Nutt. How did the meeting go?
“The meeting went good,” Hardy continued. “He didn’t ask me to commit, but wanted to know where I stood. I told him Ole Miss was up there. It’s between them and Southern Miss.”
