The junior college route paid off for nose tackle J.J. Sanchez from Glendale (Az.) Community College.
Sanchez was not a highly recruited player coming out of Glendale Independence High School and spent two years as the Gauchos nose. This past season he recorded 52 tackles and 5 sacks and was named 1st team All-ACCAC and 2nd team All-WSFL.
His play earned him scholarship offers from Southeast Missouri State and Charleston Southern and after making official visits to both programs, Sanchez (6-0 275) committed to SeMo.
He tells Scout.com, "I have family nearby and feel I can come in and play right away. The d-linemen that Coach Samuel has coached when he was at Nebraska is impressive plus my teammate Brandon Harris also committed there."
Sanchez is a mid-year transfer that will have three to play two.
