Bakersfield (Calif.) Christian receiver Jake Peterson had been the quarterback for BC until Derek Carr, the commit to Fresno State, came to town.
That was no problem for the 6-5, 205-pound Peterson, who moved to receiver and shattered several school and section receiving records, and teamed with Carr to form one of the premier pass-catch combos in the West and helped Bakersfield Christian win the CIF-Central Section D-V title.
This year, Peterson had over 1,300 yards receiving and 21 touchdowns, which are a CIF-Central Section record, as well as a Section record 84 receptions. In the second round of the playoffs, had over 160 yards receiving and six touchdowns.
An all-combine selection at the Oakland UA/Scout Combine, Peterson is seen here in 2008 highlights.
