Lewis Toler is a Bronco
Posted Dec 21, 2008
When Scout.com last caught up with New Castle, Del., product Lewis Toler he was talking about taking all of his official visits, however this week he decided to end his recruitment early and give a verbal commitment to the Western Michigan Broncos.
William Penn High School cornerback
had offers from
and VMI, however earlier this week the 5-foot-11, 171-pound athlete sat down and talked to his parents about committing to
and got the thumbs up from both parties.
“I committed to Western Michigan on Tuesday,” Toler said. “I called the coaching staff to tell them and they were really happy. I felt like it was a good fit for me as everything has gone smooth throughout the recruiting process. The coaches were very excited, I’m excited and my family is very excited.”
“I picked Western Michigan because I felt like it was a great fit, especially given my relationships with the coaches and the players,” Toler added. “I think they’ll do a great job developing me and I definitely see a great opportunity to go in and play early for them. I really liked the atmosphere there. I just felt at home, so I decided that was the best place for me.”
As a senior, Toler racked up 39 tackles and three interceptions on defense. He also had 375 receiving yards and seven touchdowns.
