Crab Bowl: D.C. Warm Up Gallery

With no disrespect intended to the Baltimore roster, the Washington, D.C., team was absolutely littered with talent and was extremely fun to watch all week during Crab Bowl practices. Here is a short photo gallery of some of the players getting ready for kickoff on Saturday.
In 1943 the
Philadelphia Eagles
and
Pittsburgh Steelers
were forced to merge teams for a season to become the Steagles and frankly, that is about what it felt like watching the D.C. team this week as
Penn State
and
Maryland
players were everywhere we looked making plays on the field.
Caleb Porzel
catches a ball cleanly on a wheel-route and races down the sideline during warm ups. The Maryland commitment from Good Counsel High School would go onto score three touchdowns in the game and be named the MVP for the Washington, D.C., team.
Good Counsel linebacker
Jelani Jenkins
awaits his next rep in warm ups and went on to have five tackles in the game. Jenkins was in on every play on Saturday and is known to be looking at Penn State,
Stanford
and
Florida
.
Lorne Goree
, a future Maryland linebacker from Charles Herbert Flowers High School hauls in a reception. Goree made seven tackles in the game from his linebacker position.
Penn State commitment
Darrell Givens
and
Duke
commitment
Anthony Young-Wiseman
get ready to take their next snap in the pick drill.
Derrick Thomas
was yet another future Penn State player who really stood out in practices and in the game. He will start out playing receiver instead of defensive back for the Nittany Lions.
If Derrick Thomas will indeed be playing wide receiver at Penn State this is something he better get used to seeing as Darrell Givens and he collide on a play.
Devon Smith
showed off his speed all week, including on kickoffs this Saturday where he returned two for 145 yards including a 98 yard touchdown. Nittany Lion fans have to be excited with all the talent we saw headed for Happy Valley this week.
Derrick Thomas waits in the defensive backfield for a pass that he eventually jumped on and nearly intercepted.
