Scout.com was on the field for most of the first half of the Maryland Crab Bowl to get pictures of some of the players both in action and on the sidelines. In the first of a two-part photo gallery, here are some of the shots we were able to get from the game itself.
If you’d like to check out some of the pictures from the field at Johnny Unitas Stadium look below and then check back for the second part of our photo gallery as well.
The Baltimore team brought their entire team toward midfield for the coin toss while holding hands to show their unity.
Founder Chuck Harmon performs the coin toss for the inaugural
Maryland
Crab Bowl, which was called heads and won by the D.C. team, who chose to defer.
Kickoff!!!
Penn State
commitment
Darrell Givens
backpedals in coverage against
Syracuse
commitment
Alec Lemon
. Lemon looked good in practices all week and while he doesn’t possess great speed, he runs crisp routes, has good hands and uses his body very well to shield away defenders. He had a 29-yard reception in the game and also threw an 81-yard touchdown pass to
Tavon Austin
on a reverse.
Maryland commitment
DeOnte Arnett
and
Stanford
commitment
Terrence Stephens
gave the Baltimore offensive line fits all game long and were easily two of the best players in the game. Arnett finished with Lineman MVP honors after recording four tackles and 1.5 sacks and Stephens had three tackles and an interception.
Alec Lemon runs with the ball after making a short catch. He was only credited with one catch in the game, however Scout.com had him down for two.
Future Penn State defensive end
Sean Stanley
gets ready to jump the snap and get into the backfield.
Maryland commitment DeOnte Arnett puts an absolutely wicked hit on Dunbar quarterback
Jonathan Perry
as he gets rid of the ball.
Tavon Austin and Alec Lemon line up in the slot. Austin was completely unsuccessful in the running game, so the Baltimore coaching staff used him as a receiver often.
Darrick Scott
, a future
Central Michigan
Chippewa lines up in coverage over Penn State commitment
Devon Smith
and Jakarie Jackson.
Scott is congratulated after batting down a pass. He also had five tackles in the game, good for fifth on the team. Not bad for a cornerback.
