The Clarksville (Md.) River Hill receiver, Michael Campanaro, talks about his week in Orlando...

Michael Campanaro is a 5'10, 185 pound multi-threat talent from River Hill High School in Clarksville, MD. Campanaro was an early commit to Wake Forest and as a senior he rushed for 1848 yards with 29 touchdowns. He displayed his versatility by playing on both sides of the ball and registered 71 tackles with seven interceptions on defense. He has continued his solid performance at the Under Armour All-America game in Orlando, FL.

“It has been a great week, I got here Tuesday, I kinda settled in, I got to pick out three pairs of shoes, cleats, gloves,” Campanaro said. “I got all the gear, I have just been hanging out with all the guys in the players lounge. We Played some NCAA football, some Madden, stuff like that.”

He has had a solid week of practice. “The next day we started practice, we had a blast. Legs are a little sore. I am rooming with C.J. Barnett, the cornerback committed to Ohio State.”

Campanaro was one of the most productive backs in the country the last two years and was unsure of how he would be used in this game. “I did not know I was going to be a running back coming into the game. They switched me to slot receiver, I am going to be playing that in college. I am a little too small to be playing running back in college, I like it. I have just been learning a lot of stuff, taking a lot in.”

One thing that a lot of players are looking forward to is the trip to Disney World, but Campanaro has already taken in some of the attractions. “My family is down here so we went to Hollywood Studios. The players are going to the Magic Kingdom Saturday.”

Campanaro made an early commitment to Wake Forest and has been very solid throughout the process. “I am taking my official to Wake Forest on January 17th, it will be my only one. I have been down there on like eight unofficial visits”. When asked if he has communicated with his future team mates, “I talk to the commits on Facebook and stuff like that, seen them at games.”
He is really looking forward to starting his career at Wake Forest and talked about what they can expect, “I am just going to come in and work hard, work hard for them, they can expect an explosive player, that is what I am trying to bring to the offense, a real playmaker, that is what they can expect.”
